Our 1970 Mustang gets raced every weekend that the local track is open. This is my wife's race car and it fits her to a "T". I can barely sit in the seat. Power comes from a 351C with open chamber 2V heads that are home ported and use 4V stainless valves. The short block is built with a stock crank, stock reworked rods, TRW flat top pistons, Speed Pro moly rings and Clevite P series bearings. The block was decked to put the pistons at .000 on the deck. The cam is a 226/230 hydro stick from Crane and it uses Crane pushrods and the Crane conversion kit with Harland Sharp rockers to get the valves moving. It's topped off with a Funnelweb 2V intake from Parker Racing Components in Australia and a 750 DP with ProForm parts. The driveline is built from a 1970 model C4 with a TCI Super Street Fighter converter. The back end is a 9" with 4.56 Richmond gears and a Moser spool. The heavy duty 3" tube housing was sourced from Currie and it uses stock 28 spline axles at the current time. Tires are 28 - 10.5 x 15 MT ET Drag slicks.
Best ET with this setup has been 7.75 @ 88 MPH in the 1/8 mile.
